Measles in Trafford area

There has been an increase in measles.

Typical clinical symptoms

• Fever >39oC
• Conjunctivitis
• Cough and/or coryza
• Generally very unwell
• Koplik spots (small red spots with bluish-white centres) inside the mouth
• Generalsied maculopapular rash – appears after prodromal phase usually on the face and upper neck and spreads to the rest of the body.
