Congratulations on your pregnancy!

The first thing you need to do is self refer to the hospital so you can receive the right care.

Go to the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust website to self refer to maternity services.

This includes information on how to register your pregnancy when you find our you are pregnant, supplements, food safety and much more!

Healthy start scheme
If you are pregnant or have a child under the age of 4 and are receiving a qualifying benefit you may be entitled to payments every 4 weeks to spend on:

Cows milk, fresh, frozen or tinned fruit and vegetables, infant formula milk and fresh, dried and tinned pulses. You can also get healthy start vitamins.

As soon as you’re pregnant
NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care have launched a campaign called ‘As Soon As You’re Pregnant’

This offers information on:

  • What to expect at your first appointment
  • Pregnancy screening tests
  • Booking details for all parts of Greater Manchester
  • Can be translated into multiple languages
